The Bison Forest

The Forest called Silvuț (from latin ”silva”= forest) is now a botanical reserve, protected area of 4th category, with a surface of 40 ha, situated on the territory of Haţeg town. In the grassy layer of the forest Croccus banaticus, Melampyrum bihariense and Lembotropis nigricans species have been identified. Since 1958, in the zone an European bison reserve has been created.
